The Greater Houston Partnership is the region's largest chamber of commerce and economic development organization, bolstering Houston's business community by providing critical business resources and bringing together thousands of business and community leaders to form powerful connections across the 12-county region.
Driven by its 950+ member companies, the Partnership strives to be a one-stop resource for companies looking to expand their business. Through our robust offerings like events and programs, committees, trade missions, and more, members are able to gain valuable and exclusive information, convene with our region's business leaders, grow their professional contacts and participate in our impact work of making Houston one of the best places to live, work and build a business.
Central to the Partnership's work is the engagement of our members who lend expertise to advancing the organization's mission. One such member is Halliburton, a leading provider of products and services to the energy industry, who has been a Partnership member for more than 30 years.
Jeff Miller, the company's CEO, president, and chairman of the board, describes the Partnership as "Houston's business connector." He shared that Halliburton engages with the Partnership because it "creates a venue where leaders have the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas that advance the future of Houston. Halliburton and the Greater Houston Partnership are very much aligned. Partnership members provide one-fifth of all jobs in Houston. We have a large number of employees in the area. Both organizations are committed to support efforts to make Houston a great place to live and work."
The Partnership offers 16 committees focused on working to advance public policy and economic development areas most important to the region and those aligning with the Partnership's mission. From energy and sustainability to manufacturing and logistics and more, Partnership committees provide space for collaboration, information-sharing and collective insights, strengthening economic growth and expanding opportunity for all in the region.
"The Partnership provides resources to support your efforts to expand business in Houston, across the nation, and internationally."
As Houston's biggest promoter of the region working to attract more people and businesses to the region, the Partnership serves as Houston's front door, hosting regional and international delegations and trade missions.
Recently, the Partnership hosted the Italian Trade Houston, the Consul General of Italy in Houston, and a delegation from the Emilia-Romagna Region offering them insights and information on Houston's space, tech and life science ecosystems.
Additionally, the Partnership led many trade missions in 2022 such as the Japan mission trip, establishing new avenues for cooperation in the areas of energy, innovation, advanced manufacturing, life sciences and transportation/mobility. With several missions planned this year including a mission to Brazil in April, members can take advantage of these exclusive opportunities to connect with businesses nationally or internationally.
Miller added, "The Partnership provides resources to support your efforts to expand business in Houston, across the nation, and internationally, serving as the unifier that provides its members with the power to connect with leaders from all areas of business – from industry and trade to education, government and nonprofit."
With so much to offer the region's business community, the Partnership is the right place to be if you are looking to expand your business and deepen your involvement in the impact work driving Houston as a great global city.
