Fall in Houston is a great time to be outside; sipping warm cider, sitting around a fire and, of course, attending one of the many festivals our city has to offer. Come October, the greater Houston area hosts a number of festivals and events to celebrate the season. We’ve rounded up our can’t miss happenings to help you make the most of PSL season.  

Original Greek Festival
October 6 – 8 
Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral 

This festival is a local favorite, and for a good reason. Here, you will find authentic Greek cuisine, live music and dance performances, unique shopping and a wide selection of wine sold by both the glass and bottle. There are many ways to immerse yourself in Greek culture through this festival of celebration. Opa! 

Pumpkin Patch Festival 
October 8 
Westminster United Methodist Church

Nothing brightens up your Instagram feed more than a pumpkin patch picture. Endless fall fun and photo opps await for the entire family. In addition to pumpkins, you can expect face painting, food trucks, lawn games and more! 

Bayou City Art Festival 
October 8 – 9 
Sam Houston Park 

Bayou City Art Festival is celebrating 50 years of excellence with a two-day event featuring the works of more than 220 national and international artists. Art lovers will enjoy the opportunity to meet with some of the industry’s most celebrated artists, view original pieces and purchase world-class art.

ScareCrow Festival 
October 8 – 9 
Chappell Hill 

Chappell Hill may be known for its sausage, but did you know it also hosts an annual ScareCrow Festival? Here, you will find all festival favorites; a petting zoo, a wide variety of vendors, live music, crisp fall air and even corn on a stick – it’s CORN! 

48th Renaissance Festival 
October 8 - Thanksgiving

Huzzah! Journey back in time to the Renaissance era at this highly anticipated event that has the most unique entertainment and activities in all the land. Not only is there fun to be had for all ages, but food as well! From scotch eggs to turkey legs, there is a delicious treat for every lord and lady. 

ArBOOretum
October 15 
Houston Arboretum 

Get into the spooky spirit by attending the 20th anniversary of ArBOOreturm. Families can expect trick-or-treating along nature trails as well as train rides, pumpkin decorating, animal encounters and plenty of festive activities. 

Round Top Antiques Fair 
October 24 – 29 
Rural highway of TX-237

The small town of Round Top offers a collection of antique finds that stretches over 11 miles along the rural highway of TX-237. While shopping here, you can find anything from vintage furniture to fall décor. There are more than enough barns, tents, hayfields and good eats to spend the day exploring.
