Don D. Jordan now heads Jordan Capital Management and is the retired chairman of the board of Reliant Energy, Inc.

He first joined Houston Industries in 1956. The firm, now Reliant Energy, is a diversified international energy services company that has operations in all segments of the energy chain.
He serves as chairman of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and as a member of the Edison Electric Institute.

Jordan is on the boards of the South Texas College of Law, Electric Reliability Council of Texas and the Association of Electric Companies of Texas. He is vice chairman of the World Energy Council and a director of AEGIS Services, Inc.; BJ Services Co.; the Texas Medical Center; and the Texas Heart Institute. He is an advisory director of Chase Bank of Texas, N.A.

A Corpus Christi native, Jordan received a bachelor’s degree in industrial management from The University of Texas and a law degree from the South Texas College of Law.
