Heather’s role at the Vice President of Sales for South Texas includes Houston, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso, and the Rio Grande Valley.

She oversees National Accounts and our Blue Energy Solutions vertical managing business development, and client retention and experience. In 2016 Heather created the Blue ES brand and vertical that she runs and manages today. She is responsible for the strategy and direction of Blue ES, and developing tools, programs and services that meet the unique needs of customers in the energy industry. She also oversees our H-E-B, LP partnership, public entity, small group, and large group sales. Her responsibilities also include support our GR strategies, and our local community investments and sponsorships across all of Texas.

She loves helping customers develop strategies for benefits that help provide improved access to care and quality. She manages over 1M commercial members in her current role. Her role in both business development and customer retention gives her unique insight to managing customer relationships from end to end.

Heather is passionate about health equity and helping people gain access to quality healthcare. Heather is on the Board of Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce. She co-chairs the Women’s Health Network of Texas at the Texas Medical Center and Greater Houston. She previously served on the Executive Leadership Team for March of Dimes to support birth equity. She is on the board of the American Cancer Society in Houston, and also co-chairs the equity committee for ACS Houston.  

Heather is also involved in the Greater Houston Partnership Executive Women’s partnership and does volunteer work with Kids Meals. In 2022 she was recognized as one of the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce Breakthrough Women. She has also been nominated 3 times for the Houston Business Journal’s 40 under 40 award. Heather has previously served on the board of Santa Maria Hostel.

In addition, she also chairs the DEI committee and People Development for sales for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas.  

Heather has over 20 years of experience in managed care industry. She joined Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas in 2008. She has two children, Jackson and Wren. She and her husband Michael love to read and travel with their family.
