R. Bruce LaBoon
R. Bruce LaBoon served as chairman of the Partnership in 2001.
LaBoon practiced law with Liddell, Sapp, Zivley, Hill & LaBoon from 1965 to 1986. In March 1986, he joined Texas Commerce Bancshares, Inc., as vice chairman and general counsel but rejoined his law firm in March 1988. In January 1999, the firm became Locke Liddell & Sapp LLP. LaBoon served as co-managing partner of the combined firm until May 2001.
He is chairman of the American Red Cross-Greater Houston Area Chapter and BioHouston, Inc. He is a director of the Texas Medical Center, University of Houston Law Center Foundation and the Admiral Nimitz Foundation. LaBoon also serves on the Board of Trustees of The Kayser Foundation and Texas Children's Hospital. He is a member of the American Bar Association, American Law Institute, The Philosophical Society of Texas, Texas Association of Bank Counsel and the Board of Visitors of the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center-University Cancer Foundation. He is a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He also serves on the Governor's Council on Science and Biotechnology Development.
LaBoon has previously served on the boards of the Houston Symphony Society, the Society for Performing Arts, the Lighthouse of Houston, Retina Research Foundation, The Houston Club, The Houston International Festival, Communities in Schools Houston, Texas Christian University, the Houston Bar Foundation and The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research.
